Carhartt WIP x PACCBET out now
PACCBET x Carhartt WIP drops today at select retailers and Carhartt WIP stores worldwide. Last week, the Russian polymath Gosha Rubchinskiy – fresh off unveiling his AW18 collection in Yekaterinburg – took time out to speak to Dazed of this collaboration. “The starting point of our reflection was an iconic Carhartt advertisement from the late 80s/early 90s of a girl wearing an oversized jacket that was shot in black and white,” said the PACCBET founder. “We were inspired by the shape of the jacket and decided to base our collection on this oversized 90s skater style.”
The collection sees a host of oversized styles, as Carhartt WIP classics, such as the Detroit Jacket and Master Pant are given bold new proportions and playful two-tone colorways. Informed by a sense of duality, and two differing perspectives, Rubchinskiy added: “We were inspired by that iconic Carhartt ad and how it represented the 90s in America, but we wanted to portray what its counterpoint was in Russia.”

A blend of East and West, storied brand and nascent skate label, together the combination makes for a fresh perspective on what skate apparel can, or might, look like – simultaneously approachable and esoteric.
