S/S23: Icons Reworked
An ever-present element of Carhartt WIP collections, in which parts of the brand’s heritage are filtered through a modern-day lens, Icons Reworked sees Dearborn Canvas items, like the Detroit Jacket and Arbor Vest, executed in the brand’s ‘faded’ wash, resulting in rich, complex takes on familiar archetypes.
The OG Chore Chromo Coat, meanwhile, sees a core Carhartt WIP garment imbued with a motif that echoes tie-dye patterns. This is further complemented by the Nelson program, which continues to offer loose, boxy jersey items that, this season, have undergone a pigment-dye treatment. A new addition appears in the form of the Double Knee Short, while a series of accessories, including the Bayfield Tote and Hat in the same ‘faded’ finish, complete the selection.
Shot by the Los Angeles-based photographer Yudo Kurita, the accompanying editorial reflects the collection’s hazy palettes and loose fits, with a series of images exploring ephemeral movements and abstractions in color.
