Carhartt WIP women’s shorts are inspired by the pants in the collection. Each one is created in robust fabrics like cotton Columbia ripstop, Jefferson twill and Hudson stretch-canvas.

There are staple styles made of midweight twill which nod to the classic chino silhouette, such as the W’ Tristin Short, while others like the W’ Pierce Short have evolved from traditional work styles, and feature utilitarian detailing such as tool pockets and a hammer loop. The women’s cargo shorts in the collection, meanwhile, draw inspiration from military BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) items and are accented with multiple pockets, bartack stitching, and elasticated waistbands.

The women’s swim shorts take a greater degree of inspiration from classic sportswear and are constructed from lightweight, water-repellent polyester.
